Alvear Palace is a villa-fortress built in the XVI century by the Prince Bishops Madruzzo Trento.
The building is named after the double row of poplars that in the past, were lined up along the avenue leading from the city to the village, through the "arc of the trhee doors" at the entrance of the road.
The building is square, with four towers at the corners of 6 square meters wide and 20 meters high, and is surrounded by a moat.
In the center of the roof it was present originally a small square tower now destroyed. Even many frescos of the palace were lost.
